Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2386283.1 : Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance: Files created on a ZFS Share don't show the time in the timestamp
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-17277621411> Applies to:Oracle ZFS Storage ZS5-4 - Version All Versions and laterOracle ZFS Storage ZS5-2 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS4-4 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-4 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-2 - Version All Versions and later 7000 Appliance OS (Fishworks) SymptomsAfter creating a file on a NFS share, a 'ls -l' doesn't report the time that the file was created. Only the day and year. # ls -l filea
After some time, the file reports the time the file was created. # ls -l filea
CauseThe root cause is that the NFS server date is ahead of the client that is mounting the share. Since the time that the file was created is in the 'future' (to the client), it is unable to display the timestamp until it has past that time.
SolutionEnsure that the NFS server and client are using the same NTP server.
