Symptoms

 Unable to login to Eagle STP through Telnet.

Changes

 

Cause

 The issue is external to Eagle as the Ping to IPSM card was failing from customers networks:

U:\>ping 1.1.1.1

Pinging 1.1.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:

Request timed out.

Request timed out.

Request timed out.

 Request timed out.

Ping statistics for 1.1.1.1:

Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 0, Lost = 4 (100% loss),

 

 

Solution

Here are steps to be verified to eliminate the issues in step by step order.

  • Telnet to eagle through IPSM card.
  • Telnet to eagle from EPAP
  • Verify if Eagle can be accessed through MMI ports.
  • Physically verify the status of MASP Cards and IPSM cards and look for the LED indicator. Ideally all LED should be green (add the LED indicators from customer documents)..
  • Ping IPSM card from a local computer on same network, and if the ping fails then look for issues in IP network.
