Symptoms

EPAP provisioning Issue

Changes

Customer executed switchover command at ACTIVE PDBA 10.203.xx.y server

Cause

1) PDBA 10.203.xx.y was earlier active PDBA
2) Executed switchover command at PDBA 10.203.xx.y server which then became standby. This resulted in PDBA 10.196.ww.z to become Active.
3) After switchover new STANDBY PDBA 10.203.xx.y was still getting the connect message with parameter switchactn =close.
4) When the new STANDBY PDBA receives connect message with switchactn =close, it will close the socket as per the below description.

switchactn :- (Optional) Allows the client to specify what action is to be taken if the Active or Standby status of the PDBA changes as the result of a Switchover request.

Values:
none – No action taken (default)
close– Terminate this connection by closing the socket

5) Ideally Connect message should have been sent to ACTIVE PDBA 10.196.ww.z

Solution

CONNECT message and the following provisioning commands involving WRITE operation should be sent to ACTIVE PDBA.
