Symptoms

SBR Server Upgrade from 5.1 to to 7.3 gets failed with errors as files missing from some rpm's, can be seen from upgrade.log :

1522212874::Checking for any missing packages or files
1522212874::Checking for missing files...
1522212875::Missing Files:
1522212880:: mysql-server-5.1.71-1.el6: /var/log/mysqld.log
1522212880::ERROR: There are files missing from some rpms!
1522212880::ERROR: Will not upgrade the server!

Changes

Upgrade from 5.1 to to 7.3

Cause

As indicated in upgrade.log file there are files missing from some rpms

Solution

As we can see the file is missing from the upgrade logs, So, We created the file manually using the touch command. For example:

touch /var/log/mysql.d

Once the file has been created, initiate the upgrade again.
