Oracle Switch ES1-24 - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Can not ping to an IP address on the other side of the default router  after a power cycle or SP reset.
A snoop or tcpdump on the end system showed the failed ICMP packet arriving with a source IP of 0.0.0.0, so the end system was not able to respond.

Cause

This is a defect (27668943)  and triggered when ipv6  address is assigned to the default vlan 1.

Solution

Permanent fix to be released in a future firmware update (1.3.1.23). A work around is to shut down the IP interface on vlan 1 from the sefos prompt.

config t
int vlan 1
shut
end
write start
