Symptoms

After EPAP R16.1 upgrade, the "maint" process is down and NTP configuration failure. Unable to configure NTP server for both EPAP-A and EPAP-B.

An error may occur in EPAP GUI banner reporting mate EPAP is unavailable.

 

Example output of Epap Status:-

Cause

The "maint" process startup failure with the following error in "maint.log".

Issue was due to the EPAP IP Version missing in EPAP configuration.

Solution

Follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Log into the server with username epapconfig or switch user.

# su - epapconfig

 

2. The EPAP Configuration Menu is displayed.

    > Enter choice 2, "Configure Network Interfaces Menu".

 

3. The Configure Network Interfaces Menu is displayed.

    > Enter choice 1 > 1, "Configure Provisioning Network".

 

4. The Sub Menu for configuring communications networks and other information is displayed.

    > Enter choice 1 for "IPv4 Configuration".

 

5. If prompted, enter "Y" to stop EPAP software and PDBA.

 

6. Continue next to enter IP address for Provisioning Network.

 

Example output for Mixed EPAP and Non-Provisionable EPAP in IPv4 configuration:
