Symptoms

The ZS3-2 was booted after a DIMM replacement and the following error messages was seen :-

Can not boot to ILOM, use 'net flash' to reflash ILOM.

The ZS3-2 then would boot. Seemly this would indicate the ILOM/SP is corrupted and would need re-flashing.

 

Changes

Maintenance for DIMM replacement was carried out before the boot.

 

Cause

Upon inspection, it was found that the front panel display was disconnected.

 

Solution

Re-seated cable to front panel and problem was resolved - without replacing motherboard.



NOTE:  If you still need to re-flash the SP/ILOM, the flash file is not easily available and therefore, for the ZS3-2, a replacement System Board (MB) would be needed.
