SymptomsNew user addition with System firmware 7.4.10.a or 7.4.11 , will cause to see, "Could not chdir to home directory : No such file or directory" message when new user login into ILOM. ChangesThis is a change implemented in firmware 7.4.10.a or 7.4.11 for new user creation. CauseIt is due to home directory of new user not being set in ILOM, when creating a new user. SolutionFor an ILOM user, the home directory is not important because they are not allowed to access it, so this message can safely be ignored. This issue can be workaround, by creating all required users at firmware level 7.4.9 and then upgrading firmware to the required level, (i.e. either 7.4.10.a or 7.4.11). While replacing hardware (SP, or MB where SP is integrated on MB), it is suggested to: -->upgrade firmware to 7.4.9; -->restore ILOM configuration from back up, and then -->upgrade firmware to required level, (either 7.4.10.a or 7.4.11), with preserving configuration, to avoid this symptom.
