FSC 4020, FSC4020

Changes

Cause

There was a code change in 4.13.101 code that brought out the problem.

FSC Dictionary Description:
MODEL = T10000D
FSC = 4020
(FSC Match Found in Rev. 4.13)

FSC: 4020 RO_FSC_VOLSAFE_WRT_MIR_INCOMPLETE
MIM Code: NONE
FRU: STATUS ONLY CONF: 100%
Summary: |INFORMATION |ONLY | *** |
Field Text:
Volsafe write was attempted on a tape with an incomplete MIR.

Engineering Text:
Volsafe appends are allowed only in tapes with complete MIR. The tape was found to have an incomplete MIR and hence volsafe append rejected. The error was found in the function ro_evaluate_pos_for_volsafe_wrt.

Solution

 Downgrade the microcode to 4.12.106 version and wait for the next code release which will have the fix in it. A special build can be requested by any customer that cannot downgraded to 4.12.106 code.
