Symptoms

You receive the following error when attempting to add a user on a ZFS Storage Appliance:

Error: Username. No entry for this user found in any directory

Changes

 

Cause

Directory users must be created using existing NIS or LDAP accounts. The user you are attempting to create is not from an existing NIS or LDAP account.

Solution

It is not possible to create a user on the appliance for a an Active Directory account. 

Either create the user from an existing NIS or LDAP account or create a local user.
