Cause
Drive keeps going down as seen from the backup application
Drive is ok from hardware side but EMM server (Resource broker) is keeping the drive down from application side
Solution
Suggest customer check the configuration of the drive from NBU
Suggest customer check why the EMM server is keep downing the drive
Suggest customer check any tldcd child processes running if yes kill the child processes :
1. Find robot control host........
> run tpconfig -d on failing media server
2. check the hung tldcd process on robot control host
> run /usr/openv/volmgr/bin/vmps on robot cntrol host (no child tldcds should be running)
Also answered customer query : How to check the drive on whether data compression is enabled or not using HP LTT
open the support ticket by using the HPE LTT tool
select the drive configuration ------>>>>
|__ Drive
||__ Data compression : Enabled
Note:
Drive compression can be enabled or disabled by the respective backup software which is controlling it.
So we need to be sure if the compression settings on the backup software set accordingly.
