Symptoms

DIMMs in a ZS3-2 are reported as part number 7049085, however, that part number is only valid in a SPARC M5-32, M6-32 or Oracle SuperCluster M6-32. This problem was seen when attempting to determine the correct replacement part for a faulted DIMM in a ZFS Storage ZS3-2.

Some Hynix Semiconductor Inc. HMT84GR7AMR4A-H9 DIMMs were programmed with part number 7049085 but labeled as part number 7053841.

The Hynix Semiconductor Inc. HMT84GR7AMR4A-H9 DIMMs are used in both Oracle parts 7053841 and 7049085.

Oracle part number 7049085 is not a substitute for 7053841 because 7049085 includes some DIMM parts not qualified in a ZS3-2.
