Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

IBM LTO7 Drives are Showing a Port Speed of 1Gb.

After upgrading the drives to G9Q2 code, the drives are reporting to the library an FC port speed of 1Gb even though the switch confirms the expected higher connection speeds.

Changes

 

Cause

 This issue is due to a change in the number of bytes in a field reported by the IBM drive and does not affect the drive's performance.

Solution

SL3000/SL8500 released code that correctly reports the speed when using the newest IBM drive codes.  This issue does not affect the ADI drive interface, only the LDI interface.

The release of FRS-8.60 and FRS 4.50 library codes.
