Symptoms

The following faults are seen in 'maintenance > problems':

The device configuration for JBOD '8675ABC309' is invalid.

ERROR:
Mixing SSD and HDD data drives in a single chassis is not supported.

From the bundle in hw.aksh, we see the chassis state is "faulted" with no other faulted or missing hardware.

You cannot create a new pool with the drives in this tray and you cannot add these drives to an existing pool

Cause

Due to product policy changes, Oracle is shipping new types of hard disk drives (HDD), solid-state drives (SSD) and embedded solid-state drives (m-SSD) to EAEU countries (Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia).

The ZFS Appliance must be at a minimum AK Release to support EAEU devices.

Solution

Upgrade to 2013.06.05.7.10 (OS 8.7.10) or later to support these EAEU devices.
