Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2353119.1 : SL3000 - Drives No Longer Being Cleaned After Partition Changes Made Using SLConsole
SL3000 FRS 4.31 In this Document
Created from <SR 3-16680270341> Applies to:Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsCustomer made changes to the partition configuration using SLConsole 6.25. After the changes he noted that none of his tape drives were being cleaned anymore. Prior to the change all drives were being cleaned. The cleaning tapes are in valid locations in the library and are not expired. They are just no longer being used. ChangesCustomer used the partition wizard in SLConsole to add a CAP to a CEM in the SL3000. CauseThis is a known problem with versions of firmware below FRS_4.50. Changes to the partitions database will turn all Auto Clean settings to false. Note, from levels prior to FRS 4.30 cleaning counts will also be lost. SolutionUpgrade to latest firmware. This is fixed in FRS_4.50. When upgrading beyond 4.31, the partition Auto Clean setting will have to be reset initially but should be retained after 4.50. To reset the Auto Clean setting, use SLConsole (Tools > Configuration ) or the CLI command... partition autoClean set { * | <Partition Id> } ...where * = all partitions. (Use '0' for a non-partitioned library).
