Symptoms

Customer not able to login to SL8500 tape library using Host name and IP address.

Customer had this issue on both libraries several times and each time after disconnect/reconnect the cables and the issue is resolved.

See below warning message from log snapshot.

Total EWI Count for 1.0.0.0.0


Warning Reason(s):  Port_eth0_running_at_half_duplex  possible_corrupt_partition

Cause

Using wrong gateway address which is causing the issue.

 

Solution

FE corrected the wrong gateway address and issue has been fixed.  ustomer is able to login using host name and IP address of the library.
