Symptoms

SSC - DMF T10000B, error code 2623, drive offline, job was restarted.

Tape drive was unloaded and reset but error remained.

Microcode cannot determine what status was presented to the channel.
 

Solution

1. Need to inspect the drive physically for any component failure.   If there is any stuck tape, remove and reboot the drive.
2. Remove the drive from the bay and ensure that the cables are connected properly. If not, remove and repair cables, re-install and bring the drive online via SL Console.
3. If the issue still persists and drive does not power up, then replace the drive.
4. Make the drive online via SL Console.
5. Run diagnostics test and perform multiple moves to ensure that the drive mounts without any issues.
