Symptoms

DRIVE_OVERTEMP_WARNING - Fault Code:9031

Note: There is apparently an overlap with FSC 9031 and Library Fault/Result Code 9031 (which is associated with SL150 code 9013 - a power supply issue and not a drive issue)

Changes

Initial troubleshooting is to check the customer environment. (Cooling Systems, Room Temperature).

Drive tray fan failure is one of the reason for the problem.

Cause

Check drive for any obstruction. Check for any cooling system or another device across from the SL150 that has stronger fans. If this occurs the pressure from the other device could be causing the smaller SL150 drive tray fans to slow down and not be able to pull and push the air freely through the drive tray like they should.

Solution

Check the customer environment.

1. Check whether customer have proper Cooling System.

2. Check whether Room temperature is according to the standards.

3. Check for any obstructions in drive tray fan. (If drive tray fan is not working replace the drive).

4. Look for possible power issues.
