CauseDrive Id 6 got load error with tape XXXXXX and after status FATAL was seen in the drive information. See Below: Message from Eventlog of the SL150. From Drive Information Solution===> The customer re-seated Drive Id6 and then dismounted the tape using the Web console.. Procedure to Reseat the Drive: To Remove the Tape Drive from Drive Bay: Note – The bridging tape drive is located in the top drive slot of the base module. The robot control is a SCSI Medium Changer device that appears as LUN 1 on a bridging tape drive. If the library is partitioned, there must be two tape drives in the base module, and each tape drive provides the robot control for its assigned partition. If the failed drive is the bridging drive then the SL150 library must be taken offline to the host as replacing the tape drive will cause the host to lose connectivity to the SL150 library. If the tape drive is not a bridging drive then it can be hot swapped. 1.Quiesce activity for this tape drive. 2.Log into the SL150 remote interface using your browser. 5.Remove the tape drive. Not need take out of the bay completely; To Reconnect the Drive Tray again: Caution – ESD damage. Do not touch any electronic components or contacts. 1. Connect again the drive tray; 2. Push the Locate indicator on the robot CRU to extinguish the light, if applicable. Note – Identify the tape drive firmware version (see Appendix B, “Drive Firmware”). You might need to load a firmware version that is consistent with other installed tape drives. 4. Use Web Gui to dismount the cartridge;
Below is the doc to replace the drive. This is the same procedure but you insert same drive. ==> SL150 - How to Remove/Replace a Tape Drive CRU in the StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library [VCAP] (Doc ID 1473764.1)
