Symptoms

Upgrading the ZFS IB Card FW via exapatch for the Product 7092767 B0 fails with the following message

Cause

It is not currently supported to use Exapatch to upgrade ZFS IB Card FW product model 7092767 (as it expects only '375-3696').

Solution

Apply the following Exalogic patch manually to upgrade the ZFS IB Card FW. Please contact Oracle Support to get this Patch.

Bug 21417996 - FW V2.11.2010 UPGRADE FOR ZFS IB CARD (PRODUCT 375-3696-01) ON EXALOGIC

IMPORTANT:

The IB FW upgrade involves dropping to ZFS shell. Customers are not allowed to enter the shell, so this upgrade must be performed by Oracle on customer rack
The procedure in the patch README must be followed to perform the firmware upgrade
For Virt customers, if they are not on April 2015 PSU or higher, check with Exalogic development whether to implement O2CB cluster heartbeat reconfiguration prior to performing the IB FW Upgrade. The IB FW Upgrade procedure involves a takeover, the compute nodes run the risk of getting fenced and rebooted if the takeover takes a long time to complete
It is recommended to upgrade the FW on ZFS running SW versions earlier than 2013.1.3.5 as well if there are any indications of this issue in the logs
