Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2338312.1 : FS System : Mappings for LUNs are Deleted After FS Path Manager (FSPM) Installation
In this Document
Applies to:Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsAfter a fresh installation of FS Path Manager (FSPM), the host lost access to the LUNs. The Oracle FS System Manager GUI shows "no mappings" for the LUNs that had been previously mapped to that host. ChangesFresh Installation of FSPM. CauseFSPM automatically creates a new host entry for the host in the Oracle FS System Services and associates the host's initiators with that host entry. Any manually created hosts with mapped LUNs will have their mappings deleted during a fresh FSPM installation. SolutionAny manually created host entry must be deleted before installing FSPM. By default, the LUN mappings themselves are not deleted and are picked up by the newly created host entry once FSPM is installed. While this can be overwritten by checking the "Delete mappings and initiators?" box in the GUI or using the -removeInitiatorsAndMappings option in the CLI, do not do so when installing FSPM. If the host entry is not deleted prior to installing FSPM, existing mappings are deleted and the host loses the access. To recover, the affected LUNs need to be remapped to the newly created host entry by FSPM.
