Symptoms

bdacheckcluster shows that the BDA Monitor is stopped on one or nodes. Output looks like:

# bdacheckcluster

...
XXXX: ERROR: Wrong bda-monitor status : bda monitor is stopped
...
XXXX: ERROR: Big Data Appliance failed software validation checks
...

Cause

The cause is that the bda-monitor service is not running.

Solution

On the node where the BDA Monitor is not running, start it:

# service bda-monitor start

Verify it is started:

# service bda-monitor status

bda monitor is running
