Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Fault reported is: FSC000_NLKP_SEGMENTATION_FAULT

This can trigger a single or dual node reboot.

The following may be seen in the majorevents.log file of the VSM7.

Changes

Recent code upgrade and/or recent attachment of VLE for migrations.

Cause

The VSM7 hardware introduced an ADI hardware check.  The problem can happen when performing a migrate to a VLE where a page has a block that spans from the previous page and has a full 60 blocks in the page.  The code is running off the end of the block array after performing a VTPF function using the TDX hardware.  The VSM7 ADI hardware detects the invalid access.

The exposure to this problem exists in VSM7 code levels 7.1.1.01.000 through and including 7.1.1.05.000.

The VSM6 is exempt from this problem as it does not have this hardware check and handles this event without faulting.

Solution

Install 7.1.1.06.000 code.

Cautions:

  1. Do not attempt to back down to a prior level of code to avoid this problem.
  2. Although 7.1.1.05.000a addresses this problem it has been withdrawn for other reasons, do not install it.
