Applies to:

Acme Packet 6300 - Version S-Cz7.3.0 and later
Oracle Communications Session Monitor - Version 3.3.x and later
Acme Packet 3900 - Version E-Cz7.4.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

6300/3900 SBC server(s) configured as SBC probes for Oracle Communications Session Monitor stops sending data (though originally this was working)

The SBC's log file: log.commMonitord may show:

CommMonitorServerReq::process: no agent for socket

And output from the command "show comm-monitor" will show an increase in the "internal msg dropped" counter e.g.

SBC-EST-1# sho comm-monitor

NOTE: The steps outlined in document:

Oracle Communications Session Monitor/Palladion stopped displaying traffic from the SBC - the SBC stopped sending traffic to OCSM/Palladion (after a High Availability switchover) (Doc ID 1984646.1)

do not resolve the issue

Cause

Tracked in Defect # 27031977

Solution

There is no current solution to the issue.  The work-around is to delete the whole comm-monitor section e.g

NOTE: Run the command:

show running-config system-config

first and make note of the current settings for the comm-monitor section

# configure terminal
(configure)# system system-config
(system-config)# select
(system-config)# comm-monitor
(comm-monitor)# select
(comm-monitor)# no
(comm-monitor)# done
(comm-monitor)# exit
(system-config)# exit
Save Changes [y/n]?: y
**(system)# exit
**(configure)# exit

and save and activate the change.

Next, re-enter the comm-monitor section and save and activate again.  If this does not resolve the issue, then a reboot will be needed.
