In this Document
Created from <SR 3-14686355601> Applies to:Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-4 - Version All Versions and laterOracle ZFS Storage ZS3-2 - Version All Versions and later Oracle ZFS Storage ZS5-2 - Version All Versions and later Sun ZFS Storage 7120 - Version All Versions and later Sun ZFS Storage 7420 - Version All Versions and later Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsWindows clients receive access denied when attempting to access a directory. Windows clients see incomplete or empty directory listings. Directory is listed without issue via NFS. Changes
CauseA filename containing a four-byte Unicode character prevented the system from listing the directory. This is one example: "WhatsApp Chat with Bob .txt" (or WhatsApp\ Chat\ with\ Bob\ \360\237\222\226\ \360\237\231\212.txt) ... in this case, the four-byte character was a megaphone emoji. However, many symbols and Chinese characters can be found in this address space. SolutionThis issue is corrected in Bug:23243131 - filename with weird char makes SMB folder to appear empty. To resolve this issue, please upgrade your ZFSSA software to version ak-2013.06.05.7.13 or later. You can access the latest version of the ZFSSA software and release notes here: Document:2021771.1 - Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance: Software Updates.
