Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

This was a new install with two servers in the minicluster configuration sharing the same DE3-24C JBOD.

One of the servers was able to access all the disks in the JBOD, the second head was only able to access a subset of the disks .

When the server boots we see:

Boot device: /pci@302/pci@2/pci@0/pci@14/LSI,sas@0/disk@w5000cca0800a78ed,0:a  File and args:

Changes

This S7-2 Minicluster hardware was previously in use with Oracle/Suncluster software in use.

Cause

When this hardware was previously used at an alternate site the Sun Cluster software was installed and in use.

When the system was brought down for re-provisioning, the Sun Cluster PGR SCSI reservations were not released and remained on a handful of disks.

Solution

The Sun Cluster software had to be temporarily installed - the tools made available with this software were then used to scrub the SCSI reservations.
