Created from <SR 3-15903613711> Applies to:StorageTek SL150 Modular Tape Library - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Information in this document applies to any platform. SL150 GUI BUI SymptomsTapes that are shown as unreadable . In parallel we have also observed a few failures of our backups caused by a problem to read the barcode. Random (?) tapes not showing barcodes in GUI... Customer also has oddly aligned external tape labels ... Note: The above tapes do not conform to the Barcode Technical Brief having characters on the hub side of the label and the L6 media type designation to the right. The SL150, running 3.00 firmware, did not complain of misreading the tapes. In fact, most of the time it reads the tape labels correctly with just a few tape labels showing blank in the GUI. The blank tapes changed position upon each reboot. ChangesNone reported CauseNo obvious robot failure messages were seen in the Service Bundle but replacement of the robot fixed the issue. Customer advised to change their labels to conform to the Barcode Technical Brief (see doc ID 1364371.1) SolutionRobot was replaced.
