Symptoms

It is reported that there is the inability to connect to running VMs and the compute nodes appear to be hung.

The ZFS_SA storage is suspect in causing this issue.

 

Cause

 There is a current known bug with the ZFS_SA array code that can be the cause of this issue.

Bug 26237803 Certain threads get stuck because they are transient and are not being being taken by idle cpus.

 

Solution

NOTE: Appliance code 8.7.12 and above has the fix for this issue.

If this issue is suspected, then a case should be opened with Oracle Technical Support for evaluation.

 

Work around provided in the bug:

Add the following to /etc/system and reboot node:
