Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2319401.1 : FS System: PCP_EVT_SYSTEM_STATE_CHANGED Event Returned During Pilot Failover
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-15966026057> Applies to:Oracle FS1-2 Flash Storage System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]Information in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsA system alert is generated for the event PCP_EVT_SYSTEM_STATE_CHANGED (Pilot Configurations Process internal system state has changed). The alert is generated when a Pilot failover occurs, and does not disrupt host I/O because the Pilots are not in the data path. Management access from the FS1 GUI or FSCLI is still available. If ASR is enabled for the FS1, an Auto Service Request may be opened with this alert. CauseSeveral conditions can cause a Pilot to failover to the standby Pilot, one of which is disconnecting the Pilot management port Ethernet cable from the active Pilot. This can be confirmed by reviewing the event log for events such as the following: ACTIVE_PILOT_MANAGEMENT_PORT_DOWN
COLLECT_LOGS_INITIATED PCP_EVT_PILOT_FAILED_OVER
SolutionDo not disconnect the Pilot management port Ethernet cable from the active Pilot. If there is some need to disconnect the cable, then first temporarily disable event-generated Call-Home to prevent an Auto Service Request from being generated, and temporarily disable email alerts. For more information, see Document 1942676.1 entitled FS System: How to Disable Call-Home to Prevent Automatic Service Request (ASR) Generation. NOTE: Once the Ethernet cable is reconnected, be sure to re-enable Call-Home and re-enable email alerts.
