Problem Description:  non-root users cannot login the BUI

From the CLI, root can login but receives fault when trying to list users or workflows

akd.ak log reports the following type of errors when user attempts to login via CLI

Thu Oct 19 15:15:15 2017: unable to perform scheduled workflow processing: invalid UTF-8 string: illegal UTF-8 byte
Thu Oct 19 15:15:16 2017: unable to perform scheduled workflow processing: invalid UTF-8 string: illegal UTF-8 byte

 

Changes

 Recent upgrade to 8.7.4, may not have contributed but worth noting.

 

Cause

One corrupt user stash object.

 

Solution

Recommended action for the customer:

        You will need to engage Oracle Support, by opening a Service Request, so that Oracle Support Services can provide confirmation of this issue and then carry out the appropriate activities to resolve the issue.

Remove the 'corrupt' user object from the appliance stash - see the following wiki document:
