Symptoms

PMAC Upgrade Failure: Output array doesn't match input parameters count

Cause

During a PMAC upgrade, from 6.0.3 to 6.4, the following errors (upgrade.log) were encountered.

1508249780::smac_var is already the desired size: 1835008.
1508249780::ERROR: Output array doesn't match input parameters count
1508249780::ERROR: PARAMS: lv_size
1508249780::ERROR: OUTPUT: /dev/block/253 27 stat failed No such file or directory

1508249780::ERROR: Failed to get LV information for free space calc
1508249780::ERROR: There was a problem verifying free space.
1508249780::ERROR: Check log for error relating to EXIT_CODE: 6.
1508249780::
1508249780::ERROR: Failed to create application storage.

1508249780::Rebuilding RPM database. This may take a moment...

Solution

The errors will most likely disappear if the upgrade is attempted again.
If the same errors persist after restarting the upgrade, please collect the following, as 'root' user, an submit a SR via MOS.

# lvs
# pvdisplay
# vgdisplay
# lvdisplay
# fdisk -l
# lsblk
# vgs --noheadings --units=k --nosuffix --separator=: --options "vg_extent_size,vg_free" vgroot
# lvs --noheadings --units=k --nosuffix --separator=: --options "vg_extent_size,vg_free" vgroot

# /usr/TKLC/smac/bin/savelogs_smac

(A file will be created in /var/TKLC/smac/image/)

Please attach the screen captures along with the 'savelogs_smac', and 'upgrade.log' logs to the SR.
Fixed in TPD release 7.5.x (88.40.0).
