Applies to:

Sun StorageTek Virtual Op Panel - Version 2.3.2 to 2.3.2 [Release 2.0]
Oracle Key Manager - Version 2.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Unable to Enroll LTO7 Tape drives through Virtual Operator Panel (VOP) to Oracle Key Manager KMA's.

Changes

IBM LTO5 tape drives were replaced with IBM LTO7 tape drives and needed new enrollment.

Cause

Virtual Operator Panel "Configure Drive" tab had 0.0.0.0 set for the gateway and the default Transaction Timeout value of 10.

Solution

NOTE: Patch 25751622: StorageTek Virtual Operator Panel (VOP) / SDP2 Client v 2.3.3 (Patch) is needed to support IBM LTO7.   Reference <Document 1014070.1> for details on acquiring this patch.

In Virtual Operator Panel, under the "Configure Drive" tab.

1) Make sure the correct Gateway is defined or remove the 0.0.0.0 gateway.

2) Increase the Transaction Timeout value to 30.

Then hit "commit".

From there you should be able to proceed with the drive enrollment.
