Symptoms

OKM and KMA discussion regarding which OKM servers will fit in the SL8500 Accessory Rack. The SL8500 has a feature to add four standard RETMA2 19-inch racks, Marketing PN_ XSL8500-RACK-Z-N, that are oriented vertically instead of horizontally. The latter generations of the OKM servers may not fit in the SL8500 Accessory Rack.

Cause

OKM/KMA discussion regarding which OKM servers will fit in the SL8500 Accessory Racks.

Solution

SL8500 Accessory Rack And OKM

OKM considerations for the SL8500 accessory rack.

The SL8500 rack is physically 28 inches deep but it can only handle equipment that is up to 26 inches in length as you have to leave room for cables and air flow.
The T4 (28 inches) and T7 servers (29 inches) exceed this length and cannot be mounted in the SL8500 accessory rack.

The 4170 (27 inches) is technically too long for the rack according to the rack spec.

x2100 and x2200 servers are 25 inches long and will fit.
