Symptoms

Oracle Appliance Manager Web Console for ODA Lite X6-2S X6-2M X6-2L hangs during the initial login and does nothing with no errors

Login using oda-admin / welcome1  - just hangs with no activity
Refreshing the page just comes back to the same prompt but login and the password are blank.

Research based on the browser prompts you determine that there is a problem with the Web certificate: you add an exception:

Now you go back to your ODA Web Console and retry.
This also fails to do anything after entering the oda-admin for user and welcome1 for password

This still fails with no errors or detected activity to load the login information and a refresh of the page just returns to the same form with no active login information

Changes

New usage while attempting to log into the Oracle Database Management Console
- Using a default browser such as FireFox fails: even after adding a security exception for the site.

Cause

Security settings built into the browser due to self-signed certificate and other potential security requirements

Solution

Try making the connection using a different browser and after adding the security exception.

  • Chrome: Add the site as an exception and proceed to the site inspite of warnings
  • Explorer also confirms a certificate problem with the website

CHROME

Explorer

Click YES to proceed

Continue your login a second time in the Windows Security Box

INSTALL the certificate

You will see a confirmation that the IMPORT was SUCCESSFUL

This time the login works even if the browser still shows a certificate error
