Symptoms

T10000D is not initializing in SL8500 eventlog is showing 1301 "Device response time-out".

Cause

The tape drive is not initializing because problem in HBD / LOD card problem.

Solution

The problem was identified through swap with parts of other Tape Drive loaned by customer.

The T10000D was replace according KB below:
