T10000A/B/C/D - 3777 Error. See bug 20306327. If the initial write to the tape at blockid 0 fails (on a blank tape or one being reclaimed/reused) you can end up with a situation where the tape is not blank but no data is written to the tape. In this case it will post a 3777 error when the tape is used.

Solution

If the initial write to the tape at blockid 0 fails (on a blank tape or one being reclaimed/reused) you can end up with a situation where the tape is not blank but no data is written to the tape. In this case it will post a 3777 error when the tape is used. If you are sure no customer data is on the tape you can run the Make Data Tape utility using VOP to the tape to restore it. Make Data Tape will work for the Sysadmin and Service version of VOP or MD VOP.
