Sun StorageTek SL3000 Modular Library System - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

After adding a cartridge expansion module onto the SL3000 and upgrading the firmware the Library Active Cell count was not matching the DIVA Archive Robot Manager state file.

Changes

A cartridge expansion module and firmware upgrade was done on the SL3000.

Cause

There was a tape synchronization issue between Diva and the SL3000 library.

Solution

From the SL3000 SLConsole: Log into SLConsole----->Go to Tools ----> Select Active Cells---> Click on the tab on the right hand side where it says, "Reset Default ".  This will update the active cell count for the SL3000 library.

On the machine with the DIVArchive Robot Manager, navigate to:

C:\DIVA\Programs\Robotmanager\bin.

Look for the file called mchanger0_0 or something similar (may be called mchanger1_0, mchanger2_0, etc).
Stop the Robot Manager service. (Ensure all active library requests have completed, or they will abort).
Delete the mchanger0_0 file.
Start the Robot Manager service back up.
In the Configuration Utility, issue a Syncdb.
In the Configuration Utility, issue a Notify Manager.
Query and check that the missing TAPEs are now present.
