Symptoms

Bot 1.2.0.1.0 was logging multiple 3955's on a Fetch Cartridge command with Error from device Code: 502 - Robot can not find target with result code of 5416.. (FSC Match Found in Rev. FRS851) Targeting packet received from scanner too short to contain valid data.. All fetchCartridge attempts were at the left side elevator address 1,2,-30,2,2

Device.db indicated the following state for the left side elevator... indicating that 3 cartridges were currently in the elevator carriage.

Bot 1.3.0.1.0 was also logging the same errors all at the same elevator location when trying to perform put and fetchCartridge commands.

Broken left side elevator carriage assembly, P/N 313854502 [F] 4 Cell Array, Elevator

Elevator Carriage

Solution

Replace the Elevator carriage assembly per Service Manual instructions.

If your SL8500 still has the turntable carriage located below the elevator assembly, that 4 cell carriage can be used in the elevator.
