Symptoms

Firmware upgrade with TLOAD 3.0 for Linux to IBM LTO6/SL3000

Message error during firmware upgrade:

Read Block Limits command failed
Download not performed

Cause

Drives are possibly reserved by backup software (Host).

Solution

Used the command below:

"\tload [-verbose] [-update] filename\n"

Example:

===> /tmp/TLOAD/p25178665_100_Generic/TLOAD_Dir/x86-linux/tload /tmp/TLOAD/p25178665_100_Generic/LTO6_G9P2.fcp_fh_OEMS.fmrz

Before the firmware upgrade, give a reboot on the tape drive by SLConsole (Diagnostic/Drive Folder:).
