Information in this document applies to any platform.

Added 140 new tapes to an SL3000 library and performed some audits, with all tapes eventually being recognized.

Symptoms

20 tapes are not recognized in ACSLS, despite a few audits being performed.

Changes

Physically entered the SL3000 library and inserted tapes.

Cause

Procedural issue inserting tapes.

Solution

- Check all missing tapes in cartridge summary.
- Checking active cell capacity.
- Check the missing tapes cell status.
- In library all missing tapes are showing ORPHAN.
- Remove all tapes (tape status is ORPHAN) from library.
- Insert the tapes from CAP.
- After completing the audit, the library will insert the tapes into active cells.

- Run audit from ACSLS.
