Changes

Installed Solaris Samba Patch 119757-38 (SPARC) 119758-38 (X86) or later on Solaris 10, or SRU 14 or later on Solaris 11.3.

This upgrades the Solaris Samba version from 3.6.25 to version 4.4.5 or greater.

Cause

In Samba 4.x setting security to server is a invalid setting

It was deprecated in Samba 3.6.x and was removed by the Samba Community in version 4.x

This is a similar failure to the one discussed in Document 2257883.1

Solution

Reconfigure Samba to use a valid security mode of user, domain, or ads

NOTE To Support Engineers:

If the configuration change introduced by this upgrade change is causing a significant impact a temporary downgrade of the version can be used. provide the customer the procedure in the Internal / Limited distribution Document 2285770.1
