Symptoms

When trying to edit the grub on a ZS4-4 with 1.5TB of RAM we found when we interrupted the boot cycle by attempting to edit the grub menu, the ZS4-4 would appear to hang when we either entered the "e" key or when we attempted to use the arrow keys to move down to the line we wished to edit.

The only recovery was to pull the power cords to power cycle the SP.

Cause

This was determined to be a variation of Bug 22878811 (SP went into reboot loop when press 'e' on OS boot grub menu)

Solution

The solution is to update to ILOM 3.2.7.20a r112614 BIOS 24.06.02.00 (or later)
