Solution Type Problem Resolution Sure Solution 2283928.1 : On DSR, When Editing an Existing Default Route, Receive an Error Stating "Cannot Specify a Destination for a Default Route."
In this Document
Created from <SR 3-15208163161> Applies to:Oracle Communications Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) - Version DSR 7.0.1 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform. SymptomsWhen attempting to edit an existing default route in the Diameter Signaling Router (DSR) Network Operations Administration and Maintenance (NOAM) Graphical User Interface (GUI), an error popup appears indicating "Cannot specify a destination for a default route." In the edit screen, the field for Destination is already populated with 0.0.0.0 as a destination network address, is grayed out and cannot be changed. Changes
CauseThe default route was originally added on the server directly via command line (manually or via script), rather than through the NOAM GUI. When added in this manner, a default destination network address (0.0.0.0) is recorded and will appear in the GUI. For edit attempts, the GUI will run a semantic check on each field to determine if changes are permitted. Since the Destination field was populated and a default route cannot have a specified destination network address, the semantic check fails and will issue the error message "Cannot specify a destination for a default route." SolutionBecause of the presence of the destination network address in the Destination field, and because that field is not able to be changed through the GUI for a Default route, the recommended way to effect the desired edit to the default route entry is to delete the route via the GUI and add back through the GUI with the desired changes. Prior to any such change, make certain that the temporary loss of the default route will not impact the user access or messaging traffic. Attachments This solution has no attachment |
