StorageTek T10000D Tape Drive - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

ASR received regarding MODEL = T10000D
FSC = 6112

Changes

T10000D firmware upgrade from 4.11.113 to 4.12.106
T10000C firmware upgrade from 3.62.112 to 3.63.101

Cause

with firmware level  FSC 6101 and 6112 are reported as PERM error rather than as a TEMP error with firmware level 4.11.113
This creates ASR spam alerts via SDP2.

Solution

Install special build firmware RB4.12.106 for T10000D and RB3.63.101 for T10000C.
This microcode addresses a known issue with accounts that use DPKM for encrypting tapes where the host sends the wrong key to the drive and the drive posts either 6101 or 6112 FSC.
