Applies to:

Oracle Solaris on SPARC (64-bit)

Symptoms

1. SSH failed to connected when try to create a database instance

MCMU_debug.log under /var/opt/oracle.minicluster/logs shows error

ERROR [MCMU.controllers.common.pexpect_util:347] SSH login to <zone_name_1> failed. Please check your login credential and try again.
ERROR [MCMU.controllers.common.pexpect_util:347] SSH login to <zone_name_2> failed. Please check your login credential and try again.

2. SSH failed to connect when trying to start CRS/VMs:

MCMU log under /var/opt/oracle.minicluster/logs/MCMU.log shows error

ERROR [MCMU.controllers.common.pexpect_util:364] SSH login to <IP xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx> failed. Please check your system log for more info.

Cause

The oracle user password was changed in the OS command line running "passwd", that causes a mismatch with  oracle password stored in the MCMU database

Solution

The password change must be done using MCMU BUI tool instead of "passwd" command

1. Logon in the MCMU BUI tool

https://<frist_node_name>/MCMU/

2. Change oracle user password

Database ---> Virtual Machine Group Profile ----> Edit -----> <Change the oracle user password> ----> Save

3. Create the database instance again
