Symptoms

On initial boot, after updating the ZFS Storage Appliance to OS8.7, the following error is reported:

/lib/svc/share/migrate_shared_files.py: Error: /var/.migrate is not a directory

Changes

Updated OS to 8.7.x (AKA 2013.1.7.x, AKA 2013.06.05.7.x)

Cause

Systems initially installed with OS 2010.Q3 or 2011.1 will not have the directory /var/.migrate

Solution

This error has no effect on boot or use of the ZFS Storage Appliance and can be ignored.

Bug 25947896 - akinit.sh should manage /var/.migrate being missing
