StorageTek T10000D Tape Drive - Version All Versions to All Versions [Release All Releases]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Customer is unable to poll a T10000D tape drive through SNMP.

Error with Drive LAN port. Monitoring reported packet loss and not possible to read with SNMP.

Customer put the tape drive offline and checked the config on the tape drive, they see SNMP status DISABLED.

NOTE: Customer has SDP v2.3.2 running.

Customer checked tape drive settings via MDVOP customer version, which is 'sysadmin' and found that the SNMP setting is NOT visible with 'sysadmin', so the customer is unable to check if SNMP is disabled/enabled.

Changes

Cause

 SNMP status DISABLED

Solution

FSE used a CSE version of VOP.

With this version the SNMP setting could be seen and changed.  They were then able to set SNMP Enabled, IPL the tape drive, and put the drive back ONLINE.
