Changes

Typically this has been observed on replacement motherboards from the factory or if extra ordinary service work has been done and not cleaned up.

Cause

The sunservice account was left enabled.

Solution

NOTE: While it is possible to resolve this issue by setting the ILOM back to factory defaults (See KM Doc 1376619.1 Sun Fire X4470 M2 How to Reset the System Board Back from Manufacturing Test Mode) - that would also require reloading the ILOM firmware and configuration files again.  It is best to follow the steps below.

  1. From the Pilot or Controller who's ILOM is in Manufacturing Test mode, ssh to that ILOM using the sunservice login (no password by default):
    WN508002000XXXXXXX # ssh sunservice@169.254.2.5

Copyright (c) 2016, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.

WARNING: The "sunservice" account is provided solely to allow
Sun Services to perform diagnosis and recovery tasks. Customer use of
the "sunservice" account may interfere with the correct operation of
ILOM and is not supported other than to perform recovery procedures as
documented by Oracle. Normal ILOM operations must be performed using
other (non-"sunservice") accounts. Further usage of the "sunservice"
account implies your agreement with these terms.

  2. Disable the sunservice account:
    [(flash)root@ORACLESP-####XX####:~]# /usr/local/bin/sunserviceacct disable
    [(flash)root@ORACLESP-####XX####:~]# exit
    logout

  3. Log back into the ILOM to confirm the problem is resolved:
    WN508002000XXXXXXX # ssh 169.254.2.5
    Password:

    Oracle(R) Integrated Lights Out Manager

    Version 3.2.6.32 r109399

Copyright (c) 2016, Oracle and/or its affiliates. All rights reserved.

Warning: password is set to factory default.

Warning: HTTPS certificate is set to factory default.
