There is a reset button hole just right of the display on the HP LTO drive. Do you know what that resets? There was this question regarding load issues. When the reset was pushed with a paperclip the drive was then able to load the tape. The drive had been powered off prior to doing the reset and the POR did not fix the load problem.

Symptoms

HP LTO drive will not load a tape.

Cause

Unknown at this time.

Solution

When the reset was pushed with a paperclip the drive was then able to load the tape.

It depends on how long the button is held in for:

If you just depress the button and let go it will reboot the drive.

If you hold it in for 6 seconds or more then it will un-enroll the drive from the OKM and will also reset the IP address of the Encryption/Service Ethernet port to the default IP address of 10.0.0.1.
