Symptoms

T10000T2 Volsafe MVC V00097 unable to mount

Changes

Customer previously replaced MVC V00097 with a new virgin Volsafe T10000T2 cartridge

Cause

Created a manual forced dump of MVC V00097 and check on RFID Stats Data

MVC V00097 turns out to be a different MVC (V00099) and that there is already data written onto it.

From manual forced dump
RFID Stats Data
---------------
 Megabytes Read = 2017633
 Megabytes Written = 7666342

 Reposition Cycles = 65080
 Total Loads = 1868
 Last Writing DMOD = 3d198f

Volume Headers
----------------------------
SVH validity = 0xf7
  Record 1 Valid
  e5d6d3f1"e5f0f0f0f9f9"

EBCDIC e5f0f0f0f9f9 = V00099

Wraps show that this "virgin" VOLSAFE MVC had already be written to

Solution

It turned out that the new Volsafe cartridge was NOT a new cartridge, rather it was a previously retired Volsafe MVC (V00099)

Move external label (V00097) onto a new Volsafe cartridge and enter new V00097 into library for usage
